There is something about being on motorcycles that makes people come up and talk to you. In every small town, people saw our bikes and bags and came up and started conversations. There was something about the idea of heading West on motorcycles that struck a chord with people. It was some desire and freedom they maybe wanted, could not articulate, or felt they didn't have. Slightly before noon, we meet a couple of drunk men sitting on the front bench of the bar and spend the afternoon talking with them.
